ROOT CANAL

What is Root Canal Treatment?

The root canal treatment is used to repair the infected teeth which are badly decayed or infected by bacteria.

The outermost part of the tooth or the crown has generally three parts – the enamel, dentin, and pulp.

If the tooth decay extends to the third part ie pulp, then the root canal treatment becomes necessary.

Need for Root Canal Treatment?

Following are a few symptoms that might suggest that you need a root canal treatment-

  • The most common symptom is a toothache.
  • The pain might differ from mild to severe.
  • Another symptom is prolonged sensitivity, particularly to hot and cold sensations. Swollen gums.
  • A chipped or cracked teeth Deep decay or darkening of gums.

Is Root Canal Treatment (RCT) painful?

A modern Root Canal Treatment (RCT) is nothing like those old sayings! A small, quick pinch as a small needle squirt around the area that needs to be treated and no much pain after that.

Since patients are given anesthesia, the pain is thus reduced to a significant scale.

However, a root canal is generally a bit sore or numb after the procedure and may cause mild discomfort for the next few days. But no worries, you'll be back to smiling, biting, and chewing with ease in no time.

Advantages of this root canal treatment?

  • Gives relief from inflammation pain.
  • Prevents the spreading of infection to other teeth and saves the tooth from a tooth extraction.
  • Ensures normal biting force and sensation.

How much does a root canal treatment cost?

The cost varies depending upon how complex the problem is and which tooth is affected. Molars are more difficult to treat; the fee for them is comparatively more.

Most dental insurance policies provide coverage for endodontic care. One of my friends had a root canal problem last year.

So she took professional help from the Acedentistry and was very happy with the results. She has been in touch with them for her regular dental check-ups since then as well.

When an infected or decayed tooth is left untreated, then the infection may spread into the substance of tooth which may further infect the pulp.

If the pulp of the patient becomes infected, then it starts degenerating.

Alike all other infections, there is a formation of pus-pocket in this condition at the tip of the roots within your jawbone, which is known as an abscess.

So, the patients will experience serve pain and swelling because of this abscess which may further affect the jawbone as well. So, painless RCT is quite essential to treat the condition.
