Employees’ State Insurance Corporation is a statutory body constituted under an Act of Parliament (ESI Act, 1948) and works under the administrative control of Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. Employees’ State Insurance Corporation proposes to fill up the Teaching Faculty positions – Professor, Associate Professor & Assistant Professor for ESIC Medical College located at Joka, Kolkata on contractual basis through walk in interview.

1. Number of vacancies is provisional and may increase or decrease depending on actual requirement. 2. The provision regarding 4 year transitory period (24th July 2009 to 23rd July 2013) as mentioned in the Note 1 of clause (a) under Experience Qualifications of Professor and Associate Professor is no longer applicable.

PROFESSOR:
For Dentistry: A post graduate qualification i.e. Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respectivesubject or allied discipline.
Essential for Non-Medical Candidates:
(i) a postgraduate qualification i.e. Masters Degree in the concerned
subject or allied discipline; and (ii) a Doctorate degree from a recognized University in the respective subject or allied discipline.
Note: The respective subject or allied discipline should be as in the Table - I of Schedule I of the, Medical Council of India - “Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 1998”.
EXPERIENCE:
a) Four years teaching experience as a Reader or Associate Professor in a recognized medical college in the concerned specialty
Note 1: The transitory period of 4 years with effect from 24th July, 2009, the appointment or promotion to the post of Professor can be made by the institutes in accordance with the Medical Council Of India - “Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 1998” as prevailing before notification of Medical Council of India- “Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions (Amendment) Regulations, 2009”.
Note 2: The provision regarding 4 year transitory period (24th July 2009 to 23rd July 2013) as mentioned in the Note 1 above is no longer applicable.
OR,
b) Three years teaching experience as Associate Professor in the concerned specialty in a recognized medical college with minimum of four research publications in indexed or national journals provided that these research publications are published or accepted for publication in the Journals by the National Associations or Societies of the respective specialties as the First Author, and further provided that the requirement of four research publications for promotion to the post of Professor should be taken on cumulative basis with minimum of two research publications must be published during the tenure of the Associate Professor.
Note 1: Qualifications with regard to experience are relaxable at the discretion of Selection Board in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Note 2: The qualifications regarding experience are relaxable at the discretion of the Selection Board in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes., and if at any stage of selection, the Selection Board is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill-up the vacancies reserved for them.
Note 3: The experience should be recognized by the Medical Council of India or the statutory body concerned with the system of medicine as valid teaching experience for teaching posts and certificate thereof or any other valid proof in support thereof should be submitted and a certificate to this effect is to be submitted.
Note 4: Teaching experience in any other post like the post of General Duty Medical Officer shall not be considered for eligibility purpose for recruitment to teaching posts.

Note 3: If a Diplomat of National Board (DNB) qualified candidate is working as Assistant Professor in a Medical Council of India recognized Medical college or Central institute, he would require one more year of teaching or research experience to be promoted as Associate Professor over and above the minimum time frame for Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Master of Surgery (MS) candidate.
NOTE 4: The experience should be recognized by the Medical Council of India or the statutory body concerned with the system of medicine as valid teaching experience for teaching posts and certificate thereof or any other valid proof in support thereof should be submitted and a certificate to this effect is to be submitted.
Note 5: Teaching experience in any other post like the post of General Duty Medical Officer shall not be considered for eligibility purpose for recruitment to teaching posts.
PAY & ALLOWANCES:
1. The consolidate remuneration will be paid as under:-
Post Pay
Professor Rs. 177000/-
Associate Professor Rs. 116000/-
Assistant Professor Rs. 101000/-
2. The consolidate remuneration may stand revised by 2.50% after every one year and no other allowances will be paid in addition to the consolidate remuneration. As & When, the NPA revise as per 7th CPC, the remuneration of teaching faculty will be revised.
3. No other allowances will be paid.
4. No Private practice is allowed during the tenure of service in ESIC.
5. Retired candidates from Central/ State Govt. / PSU from the equivalent posts are eligible to apply. Persons working in recognized/ approved Private Medical Institutions fulfilling eligibility criteria for the post may also apply.
6. The candidates have to attach the self-attested copies of all the relevant certificates/ testimonials on support of date of birth, category, sub-category i.e. educational qualification, teaching experience, Pension Payment Order (PPO), etc. with the application form and have to produce originals thereof at the time of interview.
